Daily activities...

While in Ahmedabad last week, we visited Mahatma Gandhi's "Sabarmati" ashram where he lived and philosophized for many years- and ultimately set out for his famous Salt March. Here is a photo montage of Gandhi's daily activities; they included studying, meditating, reading, praying, caring for animals, etc.

We decided to compile a collection of photos of our daily activities in India.

1) Being a tourist attraction; having Indians request a photo taken with them... (notice their tight grasps)

2) Trying not to be trampled by cows in the streets.

3) Soaking in daily life... and the dichotomies between the streets and the palaces

...and then we found ourselves in INDIA?!?!

Namaste friends and family!

Alas, we've been in India for one week and reality as we've known it is quickly morphing into a beautiful, chaotic, dirty, majestic, crowded and surreal world.

Welcome to our blog. We are amidst a 3 week journey through India and plan to reach Kathmandu, Nepal by early November, where we will spend much of the next year teaching. We have created a blog so that we can share photos, stories, adventure, tidbits with anyone who may be interested in a glimpse into life on the subcontinent. We hope you enjoy!
